The Vineyards and the Cellar

 

Villanoviana was born from the passion for good wine and love for this area of Tuscany, from our will to return to the roots of our culture and cultivate our land in an environmentally responsible way. This is the reason why we only use natural practices in the vineyard as for example the Bokashi method, which is unique here in Bolgheri and consists of creating a natural fertilizer which is aimed to improve the characteristics of the soil where the plants are more resistant to pests and diseases.

Villanoviana winery is lying in the heart of  Bolgheri Appellation and not far from the medieval town of Bolgheri.

Villanoviana covers 6 hectares (15 acres) of vineyards planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Vermentino and Viogner.

The closeness of the sea and the perfect sun exposure give the wines a mineral character and crisp acidity that fully respect the unique characteristics of our Terroir.

The cellar is aesthetically new in design, built with a ventilated façade in wood-effect ceramic which guarantees the correct thermoregulation of the inside spaces. The cellar is equipped with modern concrete containers suited for the fermentation of organic grapes.

In the underground, the ageing room is equipped with French small oak barrels and it is at a temperature controlled.

Tuscan by adoption and with Emilian roots, Marco and Barbara are the founders of Villanoviana. In private life husband and wife, and at work two complemental partners who make their great passion the real strenght for the success of their products. In 2006 a shared dreaming life became true as a consequence of the purchase of an unexploited land on which Villanoviana has founded its production, the cellar and the farm.

From the very first moment ideas and projects have come to life and continue today to be developed. Marco and Barbara directly supervise and take care of all aspects of the production of Villanoviana, with great attention ,commitment and dedication.
